Guide to Measuring Your Ring Size

How to measure your ring size

When it comes to buying a ring, getting the right size is crucial. In the UK, ring sizes are measured differently compared to other countries. Understanding how ring sizes work in the UK can help you find the perfect fit for your finger.
☾
A ring size refers to the measurement used to determine the circumference of your finger. In the UK, ring sizes are typically measured using letters of the alphabet, ranging from A to Z. Each letter corresponds to a specific circumference measurement.
Normally we recommend going into your local jewellers to find out your ring size. However that is not always convenient for everyone.
☾ Firstly check any fitted rings as sometimes the size is stamped inside.
☾ Next if you have a ring which fits you already, you can measure the diameter of the ring.
☾ Convert your rings ‘inside diameter’ to get your ring size by using the chart below.
To measure your ring size at home
☾ Wrap a pice of string or thin paper around your finger until the end overlaps and the fit is comfortable
☾ Mark the point on the string/paper where the end overlaps, this will give you the rough inside circumference of your ring size
☾ Then use the ring size conversion below
Please be aware this method will only give you a rough idea of a ring size as a few factors can affect the size ;
☾ Cold or hot hands/fingers
☾ Being pregnant or recently pregnant
☾ The width of the ring band
☾ The thicker the band sometimes widens the band so a bigger size is normally recommended
Love & light, Lj
